Hertfordshire

Herts

Parker style truncheon decorated with a crown over a script 'VR' cipher and a red cartouche containing the word 'HERTS'

The wear to the word Herts is consistent with that sometimes found on truncheons where they rubbed on the inside of the leather case used to carry them.

This particular example is made by the company Hebbert & Co., London and is stamped with these details into the end of the handle.
